Chris Cagle's long and storied history in country music is filled with twists and turns. His career itself, in fact, is worthy of a country tune of its own. But through it all, Cagle has always remained steadfast in his determination to having his music make a difference to his fans, and indeed the country music world as a whole. On March 28, Louisiana's favorite son brought his unique style of country music to the Isle of Capri® Hotel in Lake Charles!
Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, but raised in Texas, Cagle got his first big break in Nashville by writing songs for country music star David Kersh. He was discovered by an agent for Virgin Records in 2000. This agent subsequently signed him to a record deal.
His album, "Play it Loud" produced two hits: the Top 20 hit "My Love Goes On and On," and the Top 10 hit "Laredo." When it was re-released it came with a bonus track: Cagle's revival of the hit song, "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out." This catapulted Cagle to superstardom, becoming a number one hit.
In 2003, Cagle released his eponymously-titled second album, which became his second consecutive gold album that produced two Top 5 hits: "Chicks Dig It" and "What a Beautiful Day." That same year, he also performed "Don't Ask Me No Questions".
In 2010, the album "Back in the Saddle" gave a clear indication to country music and the world as to where Cagle stood, both personally and professionally.
Cagle really got the crowd going! His songs filled the air and inspired a lot of toe-tapping and boot-stomping! Check out these great pictures from Saturday’s show!
