You don't need a time machine to hear the music of your favorite bands. We love tributes here at the Isle and we're excited about hosting not one, but two cover bands! Arrival from Sweden will be here playing famous pop songs by ABBA, and Nightbird is coming to perform classic tunes from Fleetwood Mac.
In honor of these tribute bands, we've put together a list of the top 10 most covered artists of all time. Grab your headphones and get ready to enjoy your favorite music in a whole new way.
The 10 Most Covered Artists of All Time
Glam rockers Queen may have broken up in the '80s, but their anthems continue to be covered to this day. You can't go to a sporting event without hearing their hit "We Will Rock You" and their famous single "Another One Bites the Dust" has been parodied by artists like Weird Al Yankovic.
2. Michael Jackson
The King of Pop's tunes "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal" have been covered by comedic artists and serious rockers alike.
3. Marvin Gaye
Soul singer Gaye covered over 60 songs in his lifetime, so it's only fitting that his hit "Let's Get It On" has been remixed by at least 19 different artists.
Irish rockers U2 are known for songs like "With or Without You" and have been covered hundreds of times while producing their own cover albums themselves!
5. The Rolling Stones
Mega famous rock band The Rolling Stones have had their hit "Paint it Black" remade over 63 times.
6. Frank Sinatra
Legendary crooner Frank Sinatra was so popular, even Elvis Presley covered his single "My Way!"
7. The Beatles
The Beatles may likely be the most covered band of all time. Songs like "Come Together" are a staple of many tribute bands and their music was even featured in the Beatles-themed movie, "Across The Universe."
8. Bob Dylan
Iconic singer/songwriter Bob Dylan had his hit "All Along the Watchtower" covered by equally legendary artists like Jimi Hendrix.
9. Stevie Wonder
Soul man Stevie Wonder's song "Superstition" was covered by iconic bands like the Jackson 5.
10. David Bowie
The late rocker's single "The Man Who Sold the World" was re-made by Nirvana in the 1990's.
