Prepping for Football Season
Football season is fast approaching. Before you know it, your Sundays will be booked with games and your wardrobe will consist almost entirely of your team’s colors. If you’re an avid football fan, you’ll want to be ready to take this season on so you can get maximum enjoyment. We’ve put together a list of five things you can do to prepare for this football season so you’re ready for all the excitement that’s in store!
1. Mount your flat screen TV
Even if you’re not a season ticket holder, you can plan to watch the big games in style and in the comfort of your own home. Make sure your television is mounted and free of glares or obstructions. There’s nothing worse than not being able to see a play because you can’t see the screen. Whether you want your home to be the go-to football viewing destination, or you prefer to watch the games in peace and quiet, a properly mounted television can make all the difference. While you’re at it, be sure there are fresh batteries in your remote and that your sound system is working properly.
2. Know the schedule
Mark your calendar with this season’s games, making special notes of the best matchups. You’d hate to miss out on watching a big game because you simply didn’t know it was taking place.
3. Ready your wardrobe
Any true football fan will have at least one shirt to represent their favorite team. Or perhaps you’re a super fan with a whole drawer of face paint, hats, beads and costumes to set you apart from the crowd. Gather all your team’s gear and keep it together so it’s easily accessible come football season. While you’re organizing your clothes, you’ll want to be sure they are all freshly washed and free of any mustard stains from last season. You might even want to get a few more pieces to complete your collection. Pre-football season is a great time to get team shirts, after all!
4. Get some game day recipes together
Get ready for football season by gathering some game day recipes. From your tried and true favorites to new dishes you’d like to give a shot, having all your recipes in one location will come in handy when the games start. You’ll never be caught wondering what to munch on again! Some of the best go-to things to whip up before the big game are chili with shredded cheese and green onions, shredded chicken nachos with pico de gallo, and barbeque pork sliders. Cheers to football!
